Check the law regarding magazine capacity, from what I read bringing one into the state (California) that holds more than 10 rounds is a crime. There may be better sources that this I read.

You have to make sure the weapon is in a locked container, unloaded, and ban compliant if it is a rifle. Certain pistols also need to be in ban compliant configuration. No magazines over 10 rounds and it’s probably a good idea to lock your ammo in a separate container.Your correct, they don't recognize Ga permits along with many other permits. The way I understand the CA laws is that as long as you are transporting the weapon unloaded and locked away in a trunk or cargo-like area then you are within the law. If someone else has seen more updated info on transporting a firearm while traveling their then feel free to share.
Reciprocity is common sense gun legislation. This kinda thing REALLY shouldn't be this dang complicated!

I think you're required to have your ammo in a locked container but not positive. You have to make sure the weapon is in a locked container, unloaded, and ban compliant if it is a rifle. Probably, you don't have many rights there unless you're there illegallyIf you do get pulled over do they have the right to ask you to unlock the container?
Nope, ammo doesn't have to be locked, just a good idea to keep apart from the firearmI think you're required to have your ammo in a locked container but not positive.
