Yeah man it’s in awesome shape too! The guy said he got it from an estate sale where the dude shot it rarely if ever. It definitely looks in great shape. I’m not sure what the numbers are either but I assumed it was the serial number. Figured there were some folks on here that could shed some more light on it if they noticed it.Cool find. Hell, file for a tax refund and use this number. Be conservative, though... only about $4 - 5K should do it.Social security number? Right amount of digits.
Could it have been a police issued revolver?Yeah the serial number is inside the cylinder with the model number correct, so that can’t be it? I’m gonna call smith and Wesson tomorrow and see if they can shed some light. It does have 9 digits but I’m not sure of the significance.

In 10-12 days you'll know for sure if it is a SS number.
