I Was hoping to see actuall blueing and/or nickle plating.
We need a thread where people have done that.
These look ok, dont get me wrong. Just not my cup of tea.
Guns arent meant to be 'painted' , leave that for cars/bikes.
Me too. It's the perfect size frame for the 44spl.i love that old model Rossi.
i had the model 971 in 357 back in the 90s with the unfluted cylinder. I really miss it.Me too. It's the perfect size frame for the 44spl.
What did you use?
Spray paint, nail polish, Duracoat, testors model paint etc etc
Pictures and how durable is the finish?
I don't think OP meant just Cerakote.
I am looking for ideas to put a finish on an AR I have and wanted to see what had already been done. Nobody close that does the higher priced coatings down here in South East BFE
Depends on what you want in the end, I guess. I, after a long hesitation, decided to spraypaint my AR, as it's a cheap PSA/Anderson setup and it will be a working/truck/trunk/beater/take-it-everywhere gun. Cheap to do and I can change it on a whim. FWIW, I don't think I could ever bring myself to do this to a "nicer" gun. For a showpiece, CeraKote would probably be the way to go.I am looking for ideas to put a finish on an AR I have and wanted to see what had already been done.
