ATF is pretty clear on it. If you've owned it a year as "personal" then you can sell it to a non licensee without a 4473. Still recommend you keep a record though.

I’m not arguing, but I’ve been told different.. but I do not know the correct answerYes you can. No different than someone with a FFL. If your transferring from your FFL to yourself to sell off the books you will be breaking the law the same as someone who buys from a FFL to resell.
FFL guns stay on the books, personal guns you can do what you want with.
The very few gun shows I've been to, about half the tables are FFLs with guns "from their private collection". Big sign about no background check.
If they can be that open about it, obviously not a high priority with ATF.
