FFL question on multiple gun purchase.

I know ffl is required additional paperwork if 2 or more handgun or rifles is purchases within 5 business days. So would a shotgun and a handgun fall under this requirement?

Im going to pick up my new competition gun and maybe even bail out my shotgun from layaway. I don't need anymore paperwork than the 4473.

Multi-gun reports are only filed if it is 2 or more handguns within 5 business days, longuns don't figure into it. It's no more paperwork for you, just more for the FFL holder to fill out about the puchase(s).

Ya I heard they have to notify ATF and local sheriff. I don't need them to know anymore than they should.

That is correct. I guess the short answer is that per ATF requirements, the shotgun won't cause a multi-gun to be filed.
