• ODT Gun Show & Swap Meet - May 4, 2024! - Click here for info

Have you ever seen a listing...

I see them all the time since I like to try all I can. Can't knock it til I try it!

Uh, I sold a gun to someone once who reposted it for sale before he even got out of the parking lot from the meet for $100 more than he paid using my same pics lol

And I really do not mind this if I received what I wanted in return. If he hassled me to lower the price, I will remember him and will not do business with him again.

Yep deff. Sold a rifle years ago to very popular member on here, just to see it at the gun show where he ran tables few days later. Sold it thursday, had it for sale saturday with $250 more. Pretty scummy thing to do not to mention he hassled me and i didnt mind it, especially he told me hes been looking for one of these for years. Fkn POS

LOL, had to go check your feedback to make sure it wasn't me. LOL.

I rarely buy anything here though.

Happens all the time; more with the latest releases or older quirky things that someone just wants to try out but are hard to find at a shop. I've reviewed feedback for multiple transactions for the same gun where the same pics were used by several parties. Guy 1 sells to Guy 2, Guy 2 traded to Guy 3 and then Guy4, Guy 4 sells to Guy 5 with boot; Guy 1 wanted it back and tracked it down is not uncommon either.

When I first joined ODT it was like a cool community of hobbiests/enthusiasts who were looking out for each other. If you gave someone a good deal on an item it made you feel good inside because "they always wanted one of these" but that "they had another baby on the way" or their "rear main seal had just gone out".

But over time I began to realize a lot of folks will tell you a story to get a lower price. And once they get that lower price they turn around and pad their pockets. Very business-like, but not very hobbiest/enthusiast-like. So then I turned kinda cynical.

And then I realized some folks are really into one genre of gun. They'll flip other guns just so they can support/feed their habit of the one they love the most. Or to pay for ammo so they can continue to train/compete.

Bottom line is you need to be happy with what you sell something for. Once you sell it there's no need to be concerned what the buyer does with it. Life's too short to worry about stuff like that, isn't it?
