If he had resisted and a police k9 came to protect the cops and got shot then mr. Lowly citizen would be shot dead or at the very least been swarmed by cops, beaten, arrested and charged with multiple felonies. All the "brothers in blue" would be applauding the "brave" officers and fearless k9 while mourning the dogs death and cheering getting another dangerous criminal off the streets, and all the sheep would agree.

The man, other than running his mouth, went peacefully into custody, until they shot his dog. If that dog really wanted to eat someone's ass up, he would have darted out of the car and gone straight for them. Instead he stopped, and hesitated a few times. It looked like he didn't even really lunge at the cop with much gusto. I can't watch the video again to be sure. Once was enough. It's nauseating! Still have no idea what he got arrested for. If you can't take some criticism on the street, mabey it's time for a career change.

I appreciate the folks in law enforcement, but this is insane. They may be able to explain why they did this, but they can never justify it. These situations will continue to escalate and we will eventually end up with a riot because a citizen videoing a LEO. Boundaries are being pushed to the limits by LEO's (see the story about fake drug roadblocks in Ohio) and it is only a matter of time before a citizen lashes out.

When you have a chip on your shoulder and absolutely have to cuff and stuff somebody right away, use "obstruction". There is always "disobeying a lawful order" too, or "disorderly conduct". Without video, it is the LEO's word against the accused at that point. Without evidence, in court, the LEO ALWAYS wins. PERIOD end of story. That's why they need to be held accountable when there is evidence.
