Have there already been some posts deletions? I noticed that there are some members of the site that are missing from this thread that I thought would have an opinion.

i agree with that, but if you guy's got the boiler room for your muslim's , religion, politics and you kept it there that would be fine , but it don't stay there. It pours over onto the Gen Discussion, then you got everybody jumping in, like i said if there is no place to do it , then it wouldn't be done!

This seems questionable to me. That's like saying even if I don't break any traffic laws but I still drive like an ass my drivers license can still be suspended following a vote by the local police.
Like has been said by many previous posters, this is a privately owned site and OS can run it however he wants. I have to agree with NGIB though, if OS doesn't get a handle on the crappy behavior it could ruin the site. As I said in another thread I've been spending a lot more time on other sites primarily because of the behavior that brought about this thread.
I had to block this site on my kids computer last week. I just don't want my 14 & 11 year olds coming here because of all the crap floating around. I know they probably hear stuff just as bad at school but I'd like to limit their exposure as much as possible.
For you guys that think it's not that bad, try explaining to a 11 y.o. what wylddymes signature means. Seriously, what purpose does that serve on a gun trading site?
Why can't you just ignore what you don't want to read...
...and stop being a prick?
I think that there needs to be a process were a member can be banned. I know OS has other responsibilities and duties other that just this forum. I like the Mods vote, with in reason, but maybe make it a "super majority" like 80%+- to ban?
I also think all hot button topics need to be in the Boiler Room. I don't care if it's Concealed Carry verses Open Carry, God vs Atheists, Muslims vs Islam or Conservative vs Liberal we know from past experience that some topics tend to attract more contention among otherwise calm members. The regular forum needs to remain a fun place to be.
As to blaming the Boiler Room...For some time the BR has been less contentious than some of the posts in the general forum. I attribute this to OS allowing rule breakers to be addressed, whether warnings to out right removal of the offending posters. I have been getting the impression that some members are posting contentious threads in the general forum to get around these actions.
I absolutely agree. I just think that the only person who should have the power to ban, is Steve.
