Beware Garanditis. I started just wanting a WWII Springfield, then a WWII Winchester. I then wanted and Harrington and Richardson followed by an International Harvester. Of course I wanted a spare shooter so I got another WWII Winchester.

You can't go wrong with a new stock and handguards for under 160 bucks.

Out of stock at the moment but Dupage Trading has new stock sets for $140 ish. And even Unfinished stocks so you can do what you want with them.

If you have a vintage, correct stock, you are out of your mind to shoot it. Get one of these stocks for shooting and leave your 80 year old stock at home.

Original stocks are 500 to 1000 bucks these days, and going higher.
