On rifles, peep (aperture) sights work best for me.
My self defense handguns have lasers and a big dot on the front sight.

Cataract and lens replacement surgery brought me back to 30 yr old eyes, 20-20 its worth it, mine was 7 yrs ago and has been a blessing.
red dots, crosshairs etc. are all clear now

Green Prism beats red all day long. Prelex, where they replace your eye lens works miracles as well.

I prefer a shotgun over all other platforms.........but they're tough to tote around in a pocket.
