Synthetic Oil

I recently purchased a new Tacoma truck and it has synthetic oil in it and the dealership says that the oil changes come at 10,000 miles.... I change my own oil (@ 3000 miles) and it concerns me about changing oil at 10,000 mile increments. Anybody feel the same or am I just old school ?

5,000 miles max with synthetic oil. They say 10k because they are doing the oil changes free.

Just old school and set in your ways, seriously I felt the same way. Used to change at 3000, moved up to 5000 with synthetic. Dealers say their are good with 10, but it sure makes me feel better at 5. Started running mobile 1 in everything years ago, including my bikes. Won't switch back.

They said the first and second was on them and I could do them @ 10,000 or even 7500..... I think 5000 sounds better. Thanks

I have synthetic in my bike and I change it every 5000.... just sounded a little high for a vehicle... Thanks

oil has improved considerably. My vehicles (well the newer ones) tell me when to change, and its always longer than I allow. I change at 7500 with synthetic and a long life oil filter

7500 is no prob. for today's synthetics. The filter is probably the point of failure to be concerned about so buy a good one. I have 265k on my 04 Yukon and always change it around 5k. That's with conventional mobile oil.

I do 5000 have 99 crv Honda got 258,000 still going strong doing same on wife's new pilot!
