I have a first year production BBR in 7mm mag. I recently took off a Leupold Vari-X II and replace the scope bases with a one piece MGW rail and put a Vortex Viper 4-16x44, great combo for me.
I have a Tikka T3X CTR 6.5CM with the same scope,
I also have a Ruger No.1 7mag with the same Viper, I never owned the high dollar scopes, but these Vipers work for me
