It’s essentially the same question as do you believe machine guns should be regulated?

How many of the National Anthem kneeling, BLM crowd were murdered in Chicago in the past 5 years by guns equipped with Slidefire Stocks? How many suicides are committed with Slidefires? I strongly disagree with anyone who argues that banning these will help reduce murders and gun deaths. Copy Cats? Too late, that cats already out of the bag - plenty sldefires are currently in private hands. And many thousands more were sold in the past week. Me! Me! Me!

But I also recognize that the bumpfire stocks used in Vegas led to significantly more people getting shot. Spray & Pray works when firing directly into a large crowd. And so it goes.

Making precision shots at fish in a barrel could have been much worse, I believe, but I also believe this guy's skill set was probably very limited so perhaps the bump fire did help him. That's probably why he used it. He was a lousy shot.

Its more about the individual, and less about the stock on his rifle.

Its like this for those who say meh go ahead ban em I dont like them anyway:

First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist
Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist
Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me

Personally I think any device that causes me to waste perfectly good ammo is just plain dumb. BUT.......What @TheGman posted above is true, I wouldn't ever and never have bought a bump fire device but I also wouldn't want politicians that know NOTHING about firearms taking away YOUR RIGHT to own one.

I wasn't going to post in this thread again, just so much derp...
But okay, give them bumpfire stocks...then some a$$hat reminds us that the Orlando nightclub shooter didn't have a bumpfire stock or 100 round mags--- so now we need to ban 'high capacity' mags again, and then what?
I have this nightmare of Oprah screaming "You get a bullet-button...and you get a bullet-button. ..YOU ALL GET A BULLET-BUTTON!!!"

Counter point... Bump Stocks and related trigger devices were fringe niche products known and used by a small group of gun enthusiasts. Now that bump stocks are becoming public and common knowledge... can you imagine what will happen when the "thug culture " discovers bump stocks and starts going "full-auto" in neighborhoods??? The media will love that and eat it up like crazy. Bump stocks will be the new tool to beat upon the President, the NRA and all of us.

I instinctively don't like or support banning any gun or gun related product. However, it may be time to pick out battles. Honestly, bump stocks are used to skirt current gun laws and we should admit that, and move on. Yes I agree with most of you on principle, but standing firm on a silly product like a bump stock seems like a losing battle to me and not worth the effort.

To me it's the same as the guys Open Carrying... sure you can...sure you should be able to....but why put our rights in jeopardy, just because you want to look cool? Bump stocks are not worth the effort.

Bottom line, I support the NRA, they have done a great job protecting and expanding our rights over the past 40 years of my life. I have more 2nd Amendment freedom now than I did 20 years ago, in large pat because of the efforts of the NRA. They have earned my trust, and so with faith, I am trusting them on this one. If they agree that eliminating bump stocks is in the longterm interest of the preserving our gun rights, then I will accept that.

Pick your battles guys.
If you concede that banning bump fire stocks makes people safer, then you have opened the door to the argument that banning guns makes people safer.

LOL, I'm sure there are some members here that would be in the audience to receive one.

Exactly! If we're going to be honest, the bump stocks were the least dangerous thing in that room.
I actually wish someone would go on TV and say, " We should thank God that this guy had a bump fire stock on his gun. If he had not, the body count would have been so much higher."
