Finally got my wife to apply for her CW permit. I'm looking for suggestions on a first pistol. She's early 60's, good physical condition. I'm thinking a revolver of some sort. Watcha think? :)

If ccw and if a revolver. I would go with lcr 357 mag version and use 38 special in it. Its about 4 ounces heavier than the 38 version but more forgiving in recoil. I notice quite a difference in shooting em both.

How will she be carrying? Glock 42 is another good choice for her. Light weight, flat profile, very low recoil (faster follow up shots) and easy to carry a spare mag. Good for Iwb carry. I personally do not like off body carry for my wife (like a purse). My wife carries xd9 subcompact iwb with hybrid holster.

Revolver: Colt Cobra or Agent with hammer shroud, S&W 432PD, 332PD, 642, etc., Ruger LCR .38,
Pistol: Kahr CM9, KelTec P11, or my wife's personal favorite: Walther PPS 9mm

One point to consider is she may be as capable of choosing her own as most. You could just tag along to keep her out of trouble while she rents range guns, tries them at the counter, etc.
