You will never see in my collection these firearms

LOL...I can understand I guess the allure of a high end AR for those that just buy one and shoot it but rely on a gunsmith for any changes. I guess I may be spoiled with having a shop full of tools and seemingly endless bins full of AR parts. If I have something wear out or go wrong, I got plenty of spares and I know how to fix them. I might be a little guilty of assuming we all build these things or regularly rip them apart and swap stuff around thus being able to inspect, and correct regularly.

Actually that is not at all what we talked about and we would need to do a form 4. The last communication I got from you was on October 9th. I have sent you several PMs since then but you haven't responded to any of them. Needless to say I am no longer interested in your gun.

Sounds like my experience as well with the OP. Had an agreement on a different weapon. Set up to meet when I was at the base on his side of town for a Saturday or Sunday. Texted, PM'ed and poof he is gone. Needless to say I am no longer interested in that gun either.

Not necessarily. I've been building ARs for years as well and got certified as an armorer. So I'm perfectly capable of performing my own work. I own two rifles that I built because what I wanted was not available commercially. The other two are factory builds. One cannot be replicated with COTS parts. The other was purchased before the components were released for individual sale. If I have a problem, I'll fix it. But based on the quality of the components used, the only reason that I would have an issue is if I screw around with it. (messing around with buffers, action spring, crappy ammo, etc).

Side note... When the gun is more than a toy and becomes a tool you start to really care that your tools work well and reliably. I'd venture that a majority of this forum with both view points range of use is plinking, competitive, home defense, and a very small percentage carry their rifle daily. What we see is the massive turn you can make at the home defense stop. You either put a high medium or low value on your life (all of this is AR specific. I know where I fall, how important it is that my gun work, and how serious of a consequence I will face if it doesn't. If you can get by with a medium or low cost gun that's great, but I don't really care because obviously our needs are polar opposite. Ta-da

Just curious as to when the last time you needed an AR that could withstand being dragged through sand and left in water by your bedside was...

Because lemons don't happen with other mass produced guns?
If you need to spend 1500 on something go for it, but for the masses a 450 bushy will work just fine. May not live up to the top tier tactiacl practical operator standards but we can't all grow neck beards that pretty.

$1500? I guess you missed the part where you can get a Colt for under $900 and a BCM for around $1k. And since you brought up lemons, if these examples were just lemons, I suppose that statistically there would be some examples of these "better" brands malfunctioning here on the ODT, right? Strangely, I can't seem to find any. There are a handful of examples on the Web, but there are 20x as many examples of some bargain brand crapping out. You guys can spew all of the "just as good as" nonsense you want, but it still doesn't make it true.
