A failed attempt to have a rational discussion of gun values

JWC and Leatherhead are a couple of the experts I was talking about in my original post.
I would love to have their opinions on every Smith revolver model's values...in a nice little chart with condition %'s.
It would be great...but I would probably still screw up and pay too much or sell too low because I missed something that raised/lowered value to Smith collectors. But a rough guide is better than nothing.

On further reflection, let's forget this thread. JWC and Leatherhead- you guys can just pm me
all your secrets about Smith's.

Haha...I'm always here for your value advice needs. You have my number. :yo:

You are a brave man...have you tried that "PM offering a more fair price thing" yet? :ear:

Seriously, that is a very logical, reasonable idea Mr Spock. And I welcome such offers of advice on any of my ads....as long as it is offered in a respectful manner and comes with some experience/evidence to back up the more "fair" price.
Sure I have...

Anybody who has ever made a deal here without making an offer is doing it wrong.

And offers are another thing that no one should ever get upset over. You are not obligated to take them. Either say no or counter offer.

I will give you my opinion, but that is all it is, my opinion. I am no expert, and don't consider myself one.

Well, that's debatable sir.

My grandpa shared with me a long time ago his definition of an "expert" on anything.

"Son, if he knows a little more than you about the subject, then he is an expert. At least to you, he is..."

And I will STILL trade based on what I want. I don't give a damn if I gain or lose money. This isn't a business, it's a hobby. If we get all wrapped up in making money or the deal has to be just such and such, it will no longer be fun.
