Adventure Outdoors

I bought a used Glock a week ago or so and was lucky to get the salesman who helped me. He worked for Glock for a while and was very helpful. I was pulling them apart to check the internals when a dude came over and told him not to let me disassemble the guns.:frusty:

After paying for the gun, I had to wait for 30 minutes to get my paperwork triple checked and seriously thought about grabbing my Glock and walking out. I mean I already paid, what could they say?:bolt:

I'm with MariettaJoker; I really want to like the store, but they make it hard.
 
Bought 4 guns there in the last 24 months and never really had a problem. Not the quickest transaction but they always had what I was after and the price was good.
 
Decent prices, but I hate when someone acts like they are doing me a favor by selling me something. It's almost as if you are bothering them when you ask to see a gun. Too many other gun shops that appreciate my business to shop at AO.
 
My visit to Adventure Outdoors:

First impression:

WOW! Huge!. Walked in and after gawking like a country bumpkin I saw the yellow signs saying "Please check all weapons". grumble grumble...Got ignored for 2-3 minutes while two women figured something out on a register/computer, but as soon as I said "excuse me" the cutie that turned around was all friendly and made me glad to check my guns in so I had an excuse to talk to her for a minute without anyone getting a restraining order. ;) Left my ammo with her and strolled to the right where the gun counter started. WOW!!!!

Selection:

They have about a hundred feet of triple level glass cases FULL of handguns. Berettas first from right to left then it all turned into a slobbering haze of beautiful guns. Litterally YARDS of Glocks. WHEE!I hit a corner and thought I'd come to the end of the hand guns but no, almost the whole right wall and 90% of the back wall is ALL handguns. There is a goofy section of scopes in the middle of the back wall section that breaks your focus and should be moved to one end or the other but the rest is all heaven. Ammo cans are a bit pricey but I still bought 2 50cals at $13.99 each. Holster selection seemed a bit lop-sided to me. Safari, Bianchi, Black hawk and Fobus were the primaries. Decent selection of FMJ ammo on warehourse racks(nice touch), Self defense ammo behind the counter and not a great selection(I would have like to have gotten some PMC Starfires). Overal a fun place to look around.

Customer service:

I must have gone into a different store. Those folks were pretty great. The lovely little lady at the front was friendly as could be. As I walked the holster aisle one lady walked back and forth several times(course she may have been watching me for shop lifting, LOL). J/K, she asked fif I needed halp finding anything as did a young guy when I was at the ammo. He told me where to find the SD ammo and the guy behind the counter was friendly as well. I spoke to two others about guns, the first was a young guy with an almost annoyed look on his face who turned out to be quite friendly and explained the "$300 Glock" deal, showed me a couple and was overall helpful and nice. The other answered a couple of questions about a different gun and magazines and was also nice. The girl at the cash register looked mean but was nice. Then back to the cutie up front to reclaim my ammo. When she saw me coming she instantly remembered my mags and chamber rounds, smiled and had a freindly chat with me while training a new employee on removing the tags from my guns(Had my P3AT with me as well yesterday). Overall, everyone I spoke to was nice and friendly. I dind't ask any in depth questions about the guns as I didn't need that info but everything I asked was answered and everyone was helpful.

Prices:

Guns were average prices, nothing special. A few things I saw were worse than average in my opinion but nothing stuck out. Ammo was slightly higher than WalMart but what can you expect? Would have liked to get my ammo cans MUCH cheaper but I was tired of waiting for chance to put me in the right place at the right time. The only thing I didn't like was the "$300 Glock" deal. The G22(trade-ins) were all priced $399-$419. The deal was that if you buy 4 accessories, the Glock is $300. Ammo cans, holsters...etc. Accessories. So, basically you would be spending $400+/- for the Glock w/4 accessories. Still a good deal but I went in thinking Glock=$300! OOOOOOH! Actually what stopped me is I really don't NEED another gun right now(Can't believe I said that). OK, OK, I really don't need another gun ENOUGH to spend 400 bucks I can't afford to spend. Not to mention how the wife would take it. ;)

Overall:

I will go back whenever I am in the area.

I saw the same sign and checked my weapon... Yup still there.
 
Went up there this past weekend and what a waste of time. Didn't have much of anything that I wanted and when I saw something that interest me the price was ridiculous. I saw a very much used 3rd gen Glock 23 up there for $500 dollars. The 2nd gens where $425 and up most everything in there was higher than most. It's like they are trying to pay for the new building in the first month. That is my last trip to AO. They aren't making a repeat customer out of me.
