The taxpayers will pay the attorney fees used to defend the city from litigation.

If I lived there I'd be digging to find out who those 8 folks who wasted tax payers money due to their "feelings".

I'd also be pushing to insert teeth into the state pre-emption law to make the folly if repeated a painful one for those responsible.

I suspect some measure of oath of office violation occurred as well, may their citizens hold those who ignored that oath hold them accountable.
