Anyone else “Down Size”

Tried it and it didn’t work for me. But getting under 200# started my drastic lowering of medication. However my arthritis is severe, and will has limited my earning capacity some, and it will only get worse. Hence my concerns, along with the projected 2000 new neighbors if the developer gets his way. Sucks, we thought we were good here for life.

Do tell. I'm not that far from you. Where is this new development going?

The future heating and A/C is a major concern of mine. I have some health issues that don’t let me get too much insurance. (Diabetic slightly high BP)
Trying to set my wife up so that if something happens to me she will be fine.
Change over to mini splits, last forever and you can turn zones off that are not used much.

Keep in mind the type of land and how much work it might be to maintain it. Basically, many people hate a lot of yard work type stuff. I can't pay someone to keep up my pastures. It would be too expensive.
I thought that’s what cows were for ?

Friend of mine is planning to move

They have been in a 6000sf house on 9 acres for years

They bought 25 acres in Pike County and looking to build a barndominium
Large shop with a one or two bedroom apartment above .

We’ve been on a 3/4 acre suburban lot with 1800sf for many years
Just finishing an addition of a three car garage and apartment above .

I’d love to move way out but Mrs roundhouse like suburbia and has a good paying job

So unless this area turns ghetto , I reckon we will be here for a while longer .
