Anyone else get their property tax statement today?

The biggest inconsistency, from county to county, is the school tax.
That is over 75% of taxes paid.
Many let you opt out at 65,
If you don't have a large city hub in your county, its 71 to 75.
Here in Hall, it's 71.
I ain't there yet.
No offense to you younger fellers, but it should be the same statewide, 65. JMHO.
In Douglas it’s 62. Mine dropped to under 700. The first year. Granted I’m in an older home but with 35 total acres in conservation my total property tax including home was 1050.00. 👍

I’m scared to open mine. It’s on the counter

I’m Hall too
I got mine yesterday. I have to pay half this month and half in December. I swear everytime I turn around someone or some entity is there with their hand in my pocket. They say it a free country. I tell you one thing. It's the most expensive free country by far. The next thing you know we'll have to pay tax on air and everytime we fart. Frustrates me so much I could knaw a railroad tie in half.

My mortgage went up over $100/ mo because of property tax increase. Every year it’s more and more even though I am a homestead exemption.
