I put a Nikon 2x scope on my super blackhawk. great scope and will hold up fine to whatever you can dish out to it.. 2x seems good for most of what I would do with a pistol.
I have a nice Weaver pistol scope I don't use. I can't remember the model off hand, but if you're interested, PM me and I'll look it up and let you know.
Leupold or Nikon Fixed 2X are always my "Default" recommendation--Hard to go wrong with either one, and even tho' I have Pistol Scopes with more Magnification, the single best group I have ever fired with a Handgun was accomplished with a now-25 year-old Leupold 2X--Still have the Gun AND Scope, and the Scope STILL works great! ....mikey357
I have little use for much magnification in a pistol scope, most can't hold even a 4 X steady enough to use it unless its well rested on something.
2 X is good.
personally I would myself go with a variable say 1.75 X 4 power or so, just in case you had a good rest and a longer target.
you would /will use the 1.75X 99% of the time I bet.
