Big hornets

I've been seeing a lot of hornets this year. Most are normal size. A few are huge Asian hornets. I got one the other day with my long paint stick. I had it sitting there waiting on a carpenter bee but instead I heard this thing slowly hovering my way. I saw another one today , maybe even bigger.

Note: He's a bit contracted here because I just knocked the **** out of him. He was longer when flying and relaxed.

I've been stung by wasp and yellow jackets but I don't want to know what that big bastard feels like.

The hell is that thing! Its the size of a small humming bird! I believe I could hit it with my 22

We have some down here at Robins, I havnt had any issues with them being aggressive though. Like you, not interested in finding out how spicy the sting is.

I call them Japanese hornets. Very aggressive, usually nest in hollow trees. I’ve seen them attack for no reason other than being near there nest. If there is noise or vibration near they go nuts. I’d try to find nest and get rid of them especially if you have children.

That’s what I call them too. They’re ruthless

I’ve had them go kamikaze hitting my cab tractor glass trying to get to me. they are pure evil and will make you scream like an 8 year old girl. I’d rather deal with a 8 foot rattle snake.

Japanese hornet. I can assure you they sting you, you gonna ****ing know it! They're aggressive as hell and territorial. One got me on the side of my nose under my eye, luckily I had my Costas on I think he would have got right up under my eye
