Do you tell police you have a gun in the car?

I forget I'm carrying most of the time. Having a gun on me is like wearing underpants. Unless someone asks, "Are you wearing underpants?" I wouldn't say anything because I wouldn't be thinking about it.

I usually don't mention the handgun unless they ask.......but, I always call the walking cane to their attention right away.

How many of you let the officer know you are armed if you get pulled over? What do you tell them if you do?

Yep, tell them it is for hunting. Never had one check it either, just a "thanks for letting me know".

True, the 2 or 3 times I have been stopped in the last 35 years all of them have asked if I had a firearm in the vehicle so I just told them, not a one wanted to see it, maybe being in public safety myself has something to do with it, IDK.
