Engraving a name or something will make a gun hard to sell. But, I like them. You can get a good deal on them because most people wont buy them. I once got a Colt Agent with the shroud on it in otherwise pristine condition for 1/5 of the going price. The nit-wit used an engraving pencil to put his SSN on the front of the grip frame. He could have just taken the grip off and put it under there where it wouldnt show. It really made a nice BUG in my jacket or pants pocket as I was LEO then.
