Here is a cool site I just discovered:

It shows (in real time) the type, frequency, and size of internet attacks taking place across the world.

You watch it for a while, and sooner or later you will see a huge swarm come from one spot to another. It is really fascinating to watch!

What the hell is an internet attack?

There are a lot of different kinds, but really what is going on is one address (or a herd of addresses controlled by one entity) trying to blast sites off the net.

-Getting disabled or blasted off the net can really suck. Some travel sites and sports booking sites (probably a whole heck of a lot of major sites-really, have actually paid "protection money" to keep from getting shut down.) These attacks can really suck if you depend on the internet.
