Looking to get a Glock 19 what gen do you all recommend?

Gen 5 hands down.

If you got hands like a Yeti (I do) the Gen 5 is the way to go.
The Gen 3 has the best/most durable finish

I like the grip texture on my gen 3 rtf2 but the gen 5 also felt pretty good in hand when I was looking at them in the store. Like others have mentioned functionally they are all pretty similar with some minor differences. Find a store with a few different ones in stock and try them out to see what you like best.

They all shoot the same, they are all as reliable. It's a glock. find the one that fits your hand the best and buy that one.

Gen 1. I have thousands of rounds down the barrel and never had an issue.

Most Glocks will go thousands of rounds with no issues, with a Gen 5 you just get some better options. Gens before that still go boom every time as well.
