gonna need to read the computer in real time and see which sensor is not working.

some sensor is telling the computer something way off, and the computer is defaulting to the limp home mode most likely

What tune are you running ?
Might need to change tune buddy

But also has a thermostat issue

Fix thermostat first as you know that is a issue the tune might not like that cold and timing and fuel is changing


Also i suggest all diesels without emission crap run 1 qt atf in fuel each fill up

Never run near empty
Atf will keep injectors alive and clean

Most egr valves are closed until the engine comes up to operating tempture. You don't want a lean mix prior to normal temps, however I could be wrong?

good articile, I forgot about the heat from egr valve and stand corrected. Ecu would no doubt increase fuel flow to enrich mixture.

I believe you are correct, the OP may have several things contributing to his issues.

The delete the pcm doesnt look for it and being rremoved there is no flowexhaust gases
