Supreme Court Denies Appeal, Leaves Gun Decision Intact

very odd case-- the citizens here were convicted of "misdemeanors" under state law, but in states which said that such misdemeanor crimes could carry MORE than one year as a possible penalty.
That means they'd be classified as "felony" crimes per federal law.
I don't think there are many jurisdictions that have such a weird quirk of the law-- misdemeanors that can bring a 2 or 3-year sentence. Generally, it's 1 year max, just about everywhere.

Which is why, as a general rule, the only misdemeanors that cause a loss of gun rights are those that involve domestic violence or family violence (spouse or significant other abuse or threats of violence).
