went through my get home bag today

Pack some polypro under wear (top and bottom)......adds an extra layer of warmth without much bulk. Note I have found the "cheap" Starter brand to be just as durable and effective as my UA base layer....also an extra pair of socks.

I like flashlights and consider myself a flashaholic. I recommend Fenix LD40 for a good flashlight with many light settings such as 248 lumens for 3 hours, 110 lumens for 10 hours, 43 lumens for 27 hours and 4 lumens for 245 hours. It runs on 4xAA batteries lightweight water proof to IPX8 and has a momentary on for tactical reasons. It also has strobe flashing modes and SOS if needed. Its one of my favorite flashlights.

If you have more money you could also get the LD41 or TK41 which all run on AA batteries

These are awesome, too. Cheap (like 3 or 4 bucks with the battery included) Light-weight and easy to carry; just slip it in your pocket. Two settings. Bright with a long battery life. Nowhere near a "tactical" light but very portable, handy and useful!!
