at what range does 17hmr go transonic? LR 22lr shooters use subsonic ammo to start with so there is no destabilization of the projectile as it crosses from super to subsonic speeds.

you know as well as everyone out there. the cheapest 17 hmr will be more precise or as precise as the best 22lr money can buy out to 100 yards. after 100 yards the comparison is more like 22lr Stacy Abrahams, 17 hmr Scarlett Johansson.
what would you say the affective range of a 22lr is. anything after 50 yards and it loses pretty much all of its ability to stop anything. i know we are talking target shooting, but in the end, a bullets effectiveness is determined by its lethality ..

17 hmr is ****. you should only shoot 20VT. only 1" drop from 100yards to 200 yards. laser beams are better than that **** 17hmr.

but you can get 17hmr anywhere, and the rifles are readily available as well.
For a range gun, magazines are a big deal because you will load them so much. The Keystone 722 has the best mags for a made-in-USA.
