My usual is a Kahr P45, yes they are pricey but I consider me & mine pricey too, backed up by a inexpensive KT P3AT with CT laser.
Smart carry completely conceals the P45 and spare mag and the KT is a pocket carry, also completely concealed. Nuthin like the element of surprized. Also carry a Kimber Life Act pepper blaster so if it a less than lethal force attack, the Kimber will stop T Rex for a few minutes and keep me outta court.
