Georgia Campus Carry

Well that's good news.

Also notice that in the office of the Governors press release they summarize this law in a way that makes it very clear that they consider the gun ban to apply to any administrative office,
or any teacher's or professor's office,
and as a third category of off-limits location,
any place where disciplinary hearings are sometimes held.

It seems very retarded that they would ban the staff and faculty at the school from carrying in their own offices and having guns in their own desks, but apparently that's what they did --or at least that's with the governor thinks they did .

  • Any room or space used for classes in which high school students are enrolled through a dual enrollment program, including, but not limited to, classes related to the “Move on When Ready Act”;
  • This could potentially be any class you are taking in your first two years of college. High schoolers routinely take college classes. This along with the other excluded places pretty much means our Governor signed a campus carry bill that won't really allow campus carry in any practical manner.

At least it's possible to walk through parts of campus when carrying, as opposed to going all the way around, so at least there's that.

The carve out making teachers and administrators areas 'gun free' is ridiculous.

They are far more likely to have a carry permit then a student. Heck, most undergraduates aren't even old enough to carry in the first place.

Small steps I guess, but this is a really weak bill.
