Gun Cleaning Optional?

I try not to overclean, now my 1911 gets cleaned each range trip, but a Glock likes being a little dirty.

I don't sell dirty guns though.

Corrosive gets cleaned immediately

Non-corrosive just doesn't present a danger unless it will sit for a long time or if it will be in a humid environment.

My AR runs flawlessly and get s cleaned about every 1k rounds

Now when I shoot trap I shoot about 400-600 rounds in a day, so unless I know I'm shooting again in about a week, It gets a full cleaning.

None of my guns have failed to function due to cleaning issues, but when I do clean, every last part gets taken out and cleaned.

Now you guys have proper bore guides and only clean from the chamber to the muzzle correct?

I enjoy cleaning them to be honest, same as with my swords or knives, after each use each gets cleaned or maintained. Guess i just like things clean really.

I'm not nearly as anal as some of you apparently are.

There's likely more damage done by over zealous improper maintenance than running one a bit dirty.

Heck no, that takes too long.
A power drill, and wrap a long drill bit with brillo pad.
Run at high speed until it's shiny!

I was shocked recently at how dirtry this one gun was that I purchased. I have never seen something so caked with carbon...

Buying an expensive weapon and then having to spend a whole bottle of Hoppes cleaning it is irritating,.

youll be fine with q-tips, brush, and bore snake. thats about all any good gun cleaning needs
