Gun control 2019?

They keep trying this and a host of others. Hopefully it goes no where. Sooner or later it will with the direction our country is headed. The real question is what will we do about it if attempts to fight it in court fail? Hope Ginsberg retires and Trump puts a true constitutionally conservative judge on supreme court. That will help in the seeking justice phase. Of course that will require our 2nd Amendment organizations to grow enough of a backbone to actually challenge it instead of folding like a cheap suit.

All of that only matters if the SC hears a gun related case in the first place. Don’t look to the NRA for a backbone. At this point it’s just a fudd organization that’s a meal ticket for ole Wayne.

A couple of threads on this out there...

There's actually (3) gun control bills that have been filed though. Everyone focuses on fighting 'the last war', in this case the AWB. The gun control industry knows we lose our mind when those three letters are spoken.

In reality, the so-called 'ghost gun' bill in the House is much, much worse simply because it could have a chance. That essentially bans the sale of parts, or even their being advertised. Imagine if you couldn't buy parts for any kind of 'assault weapon'? It would also make it impossible to build your own firearms receivers from 80% parts due to the serial number requirements.

And of course the 'universal' background check bill is also in the House. That one is the one we need to focus on, because it's the one that's going to be the most difficult to prevent passing the Senate as well.

The AWB is a smoke screen. They want us to go charging after it and feel good about defeating a bill they never had any hope of winning. Meanwhile, they push through 'common sense' laws that are almost as bad, all under the radar.

I've heard this before on here (cant remember who said it), but they said major gun laws and/or confiscation will probably happen in their lifetime. It seems like we have really played into the anti-2a movements hands.
Not enough people really try to think like an anti-2a proponent in the gun community. You really have to think and understand your enemy to defeat them. Shunning and shouting obscenities at anti-2a people is counterproductive. Yes nearly everyone here is nervous about the future of 2A here, and I dont see a need to get the community into a deeper "moral hole" in the views of the people trying to take our rights away.
Am I saying we need to lie down and let them run over our rights? Absolutely not. Stand as strong as ever by being over informed, co tuning to observe the 4 rules, being respectful and understanding of another's ignorance and doing our best to spread the love of the second amendment to those who dont understand.

If it comes to pass, and our rights are knawed to the bone, then fighting is going to have to be a decision that many will have to really understand the consequences of. Sone will say they have the fight in them, but how many of you really understand the consequences of this? The mortality of ourselves becomes more apparent. If you have a concrete belief in fighting, those who are fighting to take our rights away probably will not have thought of their mortality, and once that reality sets in, the shock may have a more profound effect. Remember these are sheep that are proponents of the anti 2a movement. And sheepdogs cannot be freighted by sheep.
Keep strong and fight to keep our rights by whatever means. Some may not have that luxury of doing so, like those who have already fallen to protect our rights.

Long-winded, but this is only the tip of the iceberg
