How much was ammo when you first started shooting? When I brought my first gun in 2002-2003 I paid $3.19 for a 50 round box of CCI Blazer. A 525 round box of Federal .22 was like $11. Oh how I miss though days. lol

cheaper than it is now

everyone is getting a slice, thats why. government, retailers, middle men, manufacturers

when i got my first handgun, it was 8 or 9 years ago. could find a 50 round box for like 6 or 7 bucks at gun show (back when those were good to)

Heck I remember the last large amount I brought about about 4-5 years ago from Dicks when they had buy 10 boxes and its cheaper. I paid about $9.00 for Remington UMC 9mm and $15 for UMC 45. I still have some.

when I policed back in the 80s and 90s we bought bulk, a case of 38 SWC was $50 brass exchange, when we started carrying 9s and later smith 645s it was 90 a case (1000)...but I also paid $5 for a haircut and the international unit of monetary exchange, the Big Mac Combo was 2.29...on the other hand I paid 330 for my P226, 340 for my Smith 645 and 239 for my G17, but adjusted for inflation its about the same minus my LEO discount

Use to get bricks of 500 rnd 22lr federal lighting for around $1.25 and use to pick shotgun shells at local hardware store for $2 and some change

You brought a G17 for $239? And $330 for a Sig? WOW!

in 2005 I paid $5.99/box of 50 wwb 9mm, and 8.99/50 wwb 45acp. I still have some of it. I also bought 25 bricks of Federal 38gr copper coated .22lr for $8/525 round box. Still have that too. Over 13,000 rounds for just over $200 and that was in 2008.
