Ok, here goes:

A new member had an item listed for a price and I PM'd him with I would buy it. He PM'd me back with a different price. I looked at the add and his "new" price was entered. I guess he edited it.

I said I would pass.

Sounds like the original price was a typo. It seems like a stretch that someone would raise their price simply because someone agreed to buy it for the price listed.
