Please I hope no one takes this personally,

BUT

I'm starting to see a lot of ads with phrases like "I'm selling this from my own private collection", "I'm not in the business of selling guns", "I'm not doing this for profit."

Do people really think that chanting a few buzz words is going to provide any sort of protection.

Reminds me of the "sovereign citizens" who just declare themselves not subject to any law.

BATF really doesn't care what you say.

Hey......it's no different than when I bought drugs and the dude would say I'm not doing this for profit. ( Implying they were philantriphists) It made no difference. At the end of the day I had to say " its been fun, but your under arrest ". I loved using that line. But I was an ass hole back then.

I guess the one member took some sort of offense when asked if 'they' were a dealer? I mean, you have MULTIPLE NIB guns listed, with tags and want BOS info for "records" and do not want to meet anywhere. Yea, you might be suspect

Changing your language only helps when intent has to be proven as part of the crime.
This is why you'll see prostitues advertise themselves as "escorts" who are only selling their "time and companionship".
It's almost a decent defense, and it's the reason why sting officers always try to get someone to say the explicit words, "Yes I'll do X act in exchange for Y money"
But with selling drugs, and maybe guns, no proof of intent is necessary. The act itself is the crime.
