Semi auto belt fed rifles ? Sweet or stupid?

Awhile back I ran across a 34 with extras for around $3000. Almost went for it, lol. The mg3 clones look alright but I'm suspect of the build quality. Those pkm's are pretty awesome but your dead on about the pricing. Although not belt fed my current gotta have is an rpk 74, a pricey unicorn in its own right.

Does the Marcolmar UKM use the same belts as your VZ59, and you say the are loaded by hand (or can be)?

It does . Uses the same ones and are easy to load by hand. 1919 belts and links are a pain in the butt to load by hand. The RPD , PKM and Vz59 belts can be snapped in easily.

You do have to watch build quality . Many crappy builds floating around out there. IF anyone decides to get a semi auto belt gun they should do the research and ask questions . Fixing a poor build can be expensive and time consuming

Or maybe it’s just a “firearm” because it never had a shoulder stock.
