U2 out of Robins AFB?

U2 and they aren't that quite when they're trying to get to altitude quick. U2 looks like a glider with 2 jet engines, B2 looks like Batman's plane. It was a U2.

If you saw two engines it wasn't a U2

Yup.. U2's are infact still operational. I learned that a few months back. I would have loved to have seen that. Ive seen the osprey and the spirit stealth bomber, but not a U2.

We were going to rebuild the one at Robins, I was going to do it and then the budget cuts came.
It's burned up pretty goo

give the guy a break..... the current version u-2s does look like it has two engines if you don't know better. they are really under wing pods. and they do have a very nice rate of climb...... 15,000 feet per minute is not too shabby.

Those are out board fuel tanks. Common mistake, they are jettisoned before they reach maximin altitude.

That's a U2. I live under Robins approach and saw one about three weeks ago coming into Robins about 11:30 AM. A rare sight as most take off or land early dawn/late dusk, or at night. Called my wife out to the patio to get a quick view, it was really a thrill for her as she was a program manager for the U2 for many years. For her retirement from Robins she got a small US flag flown on four different U2 missions.
