Who has Hearing Aids?

I’m totally deaf . I have VA issued Starkey in the ear . Behind the ear didn’t work well for me . Mine are Bluetooth connected thru my phone . They’re free so , pretty much ok with them . Have to replace the little wax guard rings frequently, but no issues . The one issue that annoys me is after being in for a few hours they tend to “ slip out “ a bit and then they whistle .

Jabra enhanced here. If i get another Costco. Tuned to my hearing and most helpful is restaurants and crowded rooms, They help tremendously. Would do the Costco brand if when bought again.

Is this one of them

Threads?? 😂😂😂😂

If you have Hearing Aids, what brand do you have? And are you happy with them or just satisfied with them let’s hear your input.
About two years ago, I was sent by my doctor to a hearing specialist. After making all the hearing test, that specialist doctor said I was 75% deaf. She prescribed some hearing aids and when I went to check them out and the store guy said the price, it kinda killed the other 25% and I totally couldn’t hear him anymore: $7,000.00 so, I tried a $50 bucks one from Amazon, and wear it for one day, and threw it away.

So, whuuuttt did you said again? :ear::ear::ear::ear::becky::becky:

I have a similar set VA did mine as well. I like this new set but the batteries don't last long and the same on the wax guards. I wash the inside of my ears daily. Mine don't slip out but like all the sets I have had, their is one great advantage....If you don't want to hear someone, just turn them off....

Costco for me as well. I originally went the audiologist route and was using the type they put in your ear canal for 6 weeks. The product was great but was not worth the $3k a year subscription. The whole ordeal with the audiologist was a smoke and mirrors BS scam. They acted like they were doing brain surgery when inserting them in. They actually cut my ear canal on accident a couple of times and would say they couldn't insert them on that visit and make you come back a week later. I figured out the scam when I had to pull the unit out one day for an MRI. They came out as easy as a cotton ball and went right back in as easy. The other thing they would do is tell you your ear canal was very "wet" and red. so you would have to come back a week later. They tried this one time and I left and went to my wife's office where I had her partner, another NP, looking on my ear with the otoscope. Nothing wrong. They were just trying to cheat you out of another pair. The hearing aids looked like they were probably made in China and probably cost $.50 to manufacturer. It was all about profit. After the 2nd subscription went out, I went to Costco and bought a pair of behind the ear for half the price. They work well and have a 3 year warranty. They also don't charge for the testing which seemed more thorough compared to the audiologist. I currently have a pair of Phillips rechargeable. They seems more water resistant then the battery operated ones. I sweat a lot and the battery operated would short out as soon as sweat got in them.
