So, she came home with the front ripped off her 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport and one front wheel far from vertical.....

Lots of very $$ plastic broken, but, on inspection, it seems the strut took the mechanical impact.

So, with 60k on the car I'm tempted to replace both struts, what would you do ?

Any recommendations for a quality strut manufacturer who won't destroy the bank ? I want quality, but not gold plated :)

Anyone got decent spring compressors they never use ? ;) lol

This happened at my house a few years back. She knocked the hub bearing out of seat too. Something else to check

Definitely do the whole strut assembly. I'd look at Bilstien if they offer any, or Monroe their higher end stuff not the el cheapos. Wifes Exploder just got new strut assembly, I think $160 each compared to maybe 120 for the strut.

New wife:noidea:.

I would replace both if it were me

Can't really afford to do either right now :(

Bearing and carrier look ok, (FWD).

Complete assemblies look tempting, but a lot are "No Name", so trying to find a decent branded pair.

Alignment will be next !

Monroe don't make shocks for it.

FCS and API sell complete assemblies, but both are low end makes.

KYB sell the strut, but not a complete kit.

I'm thinking KYB, but back to needing spring compressors :(
