This gun in 357 magnum is big enough to hunt deer with?

Yes it will do the job! I would try to keep shots under about 60 yards and use a 140 to180 grain bullet!federal has a good 180 gr swift a frame load and a 140 gr 140 gr Barnes expander that will work well. My son has killed several deer with 357 smith 686 , the Last one at 55 yards with 180 gr dropped on spot.
