Luke was a rescue dog, that only had 2 days left at the pound. Rob took him home and they bonded ever since.

Very sad story. My dogs are also part of my family.

I'm not surprised as soon as I saw it was Cobb County Police. "Officer Safety"....I'm sure that's what justified them in shooting his dog. They'll probably say they aren't required to use less than lethal force on an animal. My father in law is a retired Cobb County Police officer. I've heard stories his stories...I'll never move back to Cobb County.

I guarantee you will see this particular cop do something stupid again in the future... Just doesn't make any sense. He has a taser, mace., and a baton. Any of those things could easily have been used to fend off a dog.
