This is what happens when you don't use cheap oil

Oil technology and engine design's changed a lot over the recent years. Decent quality oil of the correct weight and viscosity for the mechanical design are a huge part of engine longevity.

Was told many yrs ago that all oil has to pass certain qualifications...I believe that to this day...regular oil changes is the key
As long as API SERVICE CODE on back is SF, SE or exceeds it , you can run it. I change oil when it gets dirty. Oils today are made to run 5k miles or better in non heavy traffic/dusty applications.
Yes, you are correct...regular changes are the key.

If you change full synthetic oil every 4,000 miles, you are wasting money.
Most synthetic oils are made to go 10kmiles or more depending on API service code.
I'm sure I'm wasting a little but old habits are hard to break. I have increased the time to 5,000 miles three years ago. I think it's $18 for 5 qts of Wally World synthetic.

I was told also that if you swap to synt...you could develope leaks....does anybody know anything about this
That’s BS.

I use synthetic in everything I own. Change my oil in the international at 20k even thoughts it’s supposed to be 25+k

Got 950k on it now and don’t expect major engine problems til 1.5mil.

Freakin DPF system on the other hand:frusty:
