I did a lot of shooting this past weekend and nothing was more fun than my 10/22. I put about 200 rounds through her and the good times were rolling.
No matter what I acquire or shoot, the old .22lr is tough to beat for plain fun and great practice.
My cousin has a Savage in 17wsm that I also shot this past weekend and I was impressed with that rifle. I was only shooting it at around 40 yards, but freehanded it was grouping around the size of a quarter, using a really cheap scope. Those rounds average 3000fps, at least according to what the box says...Very cool looking cartridge and bullet. Small, but lethal.
