The thing I remember most was the weather gal on one of the TV channels said she was expecting 8" that night, and I thought "she'll be lucky with a face like that".
(sorry)
work? nawGoing into work that morning.
I was in Warsaw, Poland working. We had 4 feet of snow there in 24 hours that day. No problem, they had snow plows. Woke up the next morning and Atlanta was on the front page of the local Polish newspapers. They were laughing at us...
Big feets came to visit
That's purdyGoing into work that morning.
I'm originally from out west....I would have found a way. Hell, we used to drive in a blizzard just to get to an empty lot to do proper doughnuts and drift.
I used to drive to work in snowstorms in my rear wheel drive fox body.
But I get it, Georgia is not prepared for this or any snow like cities that commonly get snow. It was wild to me when we moved here that everything shuts down at the mention of snow. Would have to be 3 feet of snow when I was a kid before they cancelled school.
The thing that took me the longest to adjust to after moving here from New England was seeing a pickup truck without a plow attachment. I pretty much assumed that they all came from the factory that way. When I'd have to work in New England, it was pretty amazing that they never closed the offices for weather. Plows and salt went out like clockwork. We just don't have that stuff at the ready in the South.
