What are you comfortable spending on a "truck gun"?

I don't own anything that I feel neglect is appropriate. I won't buy a gun to "throw" in a truck, tackle box, or anywhere else and ignore it until my life depends on it.

When I was living in Athens, I accidentally left my G 27 in my truck one night after getting home late with 2 sick children. By chance, that was the night a thief broke in and stole it.....I'll never make that mistake again.
