I ask for a peak at members with low/no feedbacks GA drivers license b/c over the years I have gotten a **** load of "interested buyers" with NY numbers and the like that "haven't had time to change their license yet". It's mainly a filter to weed out sketchy folks. If a newbie says yeah np I will show you GA drivers license and doesn't appear sketchy I normally don't even ask at the meet.

If GA law says that you have to be a resident of Georgia to buy and sell a weapon to somebody else in Georgia, how come there is not much grief when somebody asks you to show a license to prove you are a Georgia resident?

That is Federal law. No unlicensed person can transfer a firearm to someone who does not reside in the same state as them regardless of what state.
