My son is 12 years old and traded (worked the deal himself) a minibike and $100 for a stainless guide 45/70. He's 4'9" and weighs 98 lbs and absolutely loves that gun.

Good for him!
Yeah, youngsters love hard kicking guns, dirt bikes, climbing trees and the like, but us geezers don't like hurting for a week after going to the range...
