Gas Is 100% Being Cut

“Rec90” up here in ohio, esp in old classics four cyl. Can really tell the difference.
Just drove 6l silverado down to atl, Waxed, proper tires, 65mph got best mileage ever. Still expensive drive! Humid air is not good for combustion. Or me!!!

Not unless the manufacture suggests it. It will run too rich and get worse mileage.
Our 2017 pathfinder got 17mpg with regular unleaded and 26mpg on the 90 or 93 octane non ethanol. It only got 19 mpg on 87 octane non ethanol.
My 8.1L avalanche gets 7mpg on regular unleaded and 11mpg on 90 or 93 non ethanol. Our 04 jeep grand cherokee 4.0L gets 15 mpg on regular unleaded and 21mpg with the 90 or 93 non ethanol.
I haven't owned or really even driven anything much newer. I wouldn't hesitate to try it with most anything but my junk is all worn out and most is close to 300k miles except the pathfinder, which we sold when it got 97k miles. Those transmissions make me nervous...

Was this actual figuring, or the notice on the dash?
I don’t know about the other stuff, but my big liter stuff requires a higher octane. Is that true of the 8.1?
